Macrowala

Terms of service

Last updated: 28 September 2026

These terms apply to Macrowala (the "service"), a nutrition tracking web app operated by Vishal Tayade ("we", "us"). By using the service or buying a subscription you agree to them.

1. The service

Macrowala estimates the calories and nutrients of meals from photos, barcodes, spoken or typed descriptions, restaurant menus and recipe links, and helps you track them against targets you choose. Estimates are generated automatically and can be wrong, sometimes by 20% or more.

2. Not medical advice

The service is a general fitness tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Do not rely on it to manage a medical condition, an eating disorder, pregnancy, diabetes, kidney disease, or treatment with medicines that affect appetite or weight; ask your doctor or a registered dietitian to set your targets. The service is not intended for anyone under 18.

3. Subscriptions and payment

4. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time. Our refund and cancellation policy explains what happens when you do.

5. Your device and your subscription

The app identifies your device with a random code stored in your browser; there is no password. To change phones, tap Get a move code in Profile on the old one and Move my account here on the new one: your meals, goals and subscription come across. If you've lost the old device or cleared your browser data, Restore purchase, with the email you paid with and the subscription ID from your receipt, brings back your subscription but not the meals and goals saved there. Keep your receipt.

6. Fair use

To keep the service fast and affordable for everyone, each subscriber has a daily limit on automated analyses (photos, descriptions, menus, recipes, meal plans and share-card headlines). Manual logging is not limited. You must not resell access, scrape the service, attempt to bypass limits or payment, or use it to break the law.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of what you submit. You give us permission to process it to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy.

Share cards suggest a headline that is written automatically. You decide whether to post a card, what its headline says and where it goes, so check it before you share it. Smart Swaps compare our estimates of two dishes on the same menu; they are estimates, not guarantees.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is", and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

10. Ending your access

We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, for example by attempting to bypass payment. If we end access without cause, we will refund the unused part of your current period.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where you live.
